Tracking Code 9025-4/12-187 Job Description The ideal candidate will apply strong networking skills to the analysis, design, development, integration, installation, implementation and support of Cisco and Adtran centered network resources. Candidate will resolve implementation challenges which require an intimate knowledge of Networking technologies and the ability to work independently and in conjunction with a team of engineer Required Skills * Establish and implement network technology and process standards * Ensure the implementation of a highly reliable and available network/voice infrastructure (LAN/WAN, telecommunications) to support a growing and dynamic business. * Implement a real time monitoring solution to prove the network is meeting 99.9% uptime. * Develop metrics to measure network performance and availability and make necessary improvements. * Work with IT Operations to document the current and future network architecture and technology * Work with the Architecture group to evaluate current/future network infrastructure and identify technologies and manage projects designed to improve security, scalability and reliability of the overall environment * Ensure compliance for regulatory requirements (SOX/PCI), best practices, and policies and procedures. * Plan and manage network infrastructure projects * Provide support for the implementation team, by doing whatever it takes to make the team successful. Required Experience * 5 – 10+ years in IT with at least 2 years as a Network Engineer * Ability to prioritize projects and deliver on commitments * Experience with global networks and IPSEC VPN technology * Expert knowledge of: industry standard firewalls, industry standard layer 2 switches industry standard layer 4-7 load balancing * Results driven, ability to initiate and lead projects * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously; with a great attention to detail, operates with urgency, focus and discipline * Excellent interpersonal skills; someone who is likable, a team player and has the personality to be effective across multiple divisions Superior team and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interface smoothly with clients and other departments * Ability to communicate technical information verbally * Ability to translate functional requirements into technical project specifications. * Ability to gather and document requirements and solutions * Capable of performing in a high stress, fast passed technical hardware/software environment. * Comfortable working with executive level IT and business management * Ability to execute multiple complex projects at the same time * Excellent problem-solving skills * Professional Personality * A 'Can-Do' attitude Desired Skills * Cisco Certified CCNA, MCSE, CCIE, CISSP, CCNP or equivalent certifications * 5 years of related experience, preferably in a retail environment, maintaining and monitoring the corporate and stores technical environment. (150+ locations) Demonstrated experience with major projects such as: data center relocation or build out, disaster recovery analysis and implementation, establishment of service levels, security and access controls implementation and other projects typical for the information technology environment of a large retailer.
