GeoSearch Engineering Manager
A9.com, the search technology subsidiary of Amazon.com, is looking for a highly experienced and motivated engineering manager to lead and participate in the design, implementation and deployment of high performance systems and services to power search and location services for Amazon's digital products.
* You will build and lead a world-class team whose groundbreaking innovations will be a critical component for Amazon's offerings.
* You will work closely with the A9 and Amazon leadership teams to help drive product strategy
* You will work in A9's small-company environment, but have access to the resources and customers of Amazon.com, one of the world''s leading Internet companies
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering; Master's degree preferred
* Proven track record of delivering web products and services to large customer bases
* Rock-solid software development background and a passion for leading software engineering teams, including geographically distributed ones
* Strong technical skills: you don't have to code full time, but you do love reading code and design documents, and collaborating with engineers on software architectures
* Proven ability to recruit, motivate and inspire a world-class software development team to deliver the absolute best products
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, for both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
* A passion for innovation and raising the bar in teams, technology and projects
* Experience in large-scale geographic, location and mapping technology
* Experience leading in small and in large organizations (10 - 50+ people)
* An analytical mind that thrives in a data-driven environment
* Strong organizational planning and development, business judgment, technical leadership, and communication skills
* Ability to lead multiple simultaneous product development efforts and initiatives
