Overview:

Technician providing technical and patient support and patient care. Communicates continuously with the physician about patient condition. Assist physician during invasive and noninvasive procedures. Operates all equipment safely and correctly. Assesses procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiac Cath Laboratory team are met. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. Technician is authorize to be in the presence of medications.

Special Skills:

Demonstrated critical thinking skills to be able to pass orientation.

Minimum Requirements:

Completion of formal two year radiologic technology training in AMA approved school which meets requirements for registry by the ARRT or equivalent on-the-job training including a minimum of four months orientation. One year experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Current ARRT and CRT. Current BLS. Must attend EKG, Hemodynamics, IABP classes within four months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as an EP tech in a cath lab or EP lab setting. Radiology experience.
