Accounting Principals is partnering with aSouth Kansas Cityemployer to locate an underwriter in their mortgage division. This candidate is accountable for the security of the credit union client portfolio and loans. Please read below to see if you are a fitting candidate for this position.

Requirements

· Understanding of FNMA/FHLMC underwriting guidelines
· Experience with FHA and VA underwriting.
· Although DE/SAR is preferred, it is not required
· Excellent communication skills and writing skills
· Strong skills in word processing and spreadsheet software
· Knowledge of spreadsheet software and ability to use word processing software.
· Must be able to be bonded.
· Will be expected to lift up to 20 pounds on occasions
· A reliable means of transportation to commute in the local area to attend seminars and workshops as needed

Responsibilities

· Will be underwriting first mortgages per the guidelines of FNMA/FHLMC
· FHA underwriting to HUD guidelines
· Understanding of VA underwriting
· Accountable for HMDA reporting
· Product Training and investigating new products
· Understand agency guideline changes and be able to express this effectively to the team
· Collaborate with members of other credit union departments to insure the process is providing the best service

This employment opportunity is a contract position. This position will pay a range of $15.00-$18.00 an hour.
