Japanese manufacturing company in GA seeks for a HR Manager.
COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES:
Deals with a wide range of situations concurrently requiring problem solving, analytical and creative thinking skills. Must be adept at handling sensitive issues and situations requiring fast response or course of action. Judgment and initiative are required in order to plan, organize, coordinate, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Works under the general supervision of the company president & Vice President with goals and objectives established. Develops courses of action and uses independent judgment to achieve objectives.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACCURACY:
Directs the administration of the Human Resources function which could have far reaching consequences if improperly performed. Systems and procedures are in place which would detect most errors. The selection process requires making subjective judgments which carry the risk of errors.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS:
Interacts frequently with company employees of all positions. Has outside contacts with corporate, medical services, employment agencies, HR professionals and a wide range of others in the performance of job duties. Nature of contacts requires a high degree of courtesy, tact and professional decorum.
Has access to all personnel files, including performance evaluations and disciplinary actions, wages, medical histories, etc., which are very confidential and require much discretion to avoid damaging employee relations. Also maintains files of any active and pending legal actions.
Close concentration to detail and mental alertness are required while interviewing, preparing reports, interpreting policies and other related HR activities. Physical effort required includes: mobility throughout the facility, sitting, reaching, manual dexterity, visual acuity, the ability to talk, hear and listen. Subject to frequent interruptions and must work with multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
Works in a normal office environment with frequent brief exposure to manufacturing environment and occasional travel. Plant requires the use of safety equipment such as hard hat and eye, ear and foot protection.
EXTENT OF SUPERVISION:
Has full responsibility and accountability for the Human Resource function and department. Maintains an effective organization through the selection, training, motivation, evaluation and discipline of subordinates.
SCOPE OF SUPERVISION:
Directs the work activities of one employee, the HR Assistant.
A Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or Business with three to five years professional Human Resource experience in progressively responsible and supervisory positions would be required to prepare for the position. Up to one year in the position is required to become proficient in most phases of the job.
