I.T. Business Analyst Sr. - Decatur, IL

This is an exempt level position.

Position Summary:

* Under limited direction and with limited supervision, using established procedures and policies, applies superior skills and knowledge of assessing business needs to gather, organize, prioritize and complete numerous projects and assignments concurrently

* Conduct system analysis, write detailed specifications for system enhancements, and test system enhancements

* Must be able to interact and deal effectively with all levels of employees while maintaining a professional manner

* Will assist in delivery of project initiatives and deliverables and provide regular and accurate status reports and other documentation to management and team members

* Monitors progress and may supervise and guide junior level personnel on complex projects

* May act as project manager on some projects

* Functions as an expert in one or more applications and is frequently consulted by others in the group

Key Roles:

·Advanced knowledge of systems and handling support application issues and writing up functional requirements using established procedures. Requested to provide assistance and guidance to junior level BA’s and act as team lead in absence of the supervisor

·Utilize established relationships with Customers and IT Department personnel to ensure that support and analysis satisfaction remains a high level for the entire group

·Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills (teamwork, conflict resolution, and empathy). Working well with others involves understanding and appreciating individual differences. Have the ability to coordinate cross departmental projects

·Ability to troubleshoot complex problems and effectively utilize available resources to resolve problems

·Develop internal procedures and/or policies to help ensure a good workflow within the Project Team. Must be able to assist other specialists with policy implementation and questions

·Ability to manage projects. This includes:

o Ability to conduct site reviews, create test plans for change requests, testing the changes, and training users on the changes

o Ability to schedule resources to meet deadlines, control scope creep, identify and manage project risks, and provide a cost/benefit analysis of the project

o Ability to provide guidance to junior business analysts

o Ability to send timely and accurate status reports

Job Requirements:

·8+ years of relevant job experience required

·4 year degree in an IT or Accounting related field or equivalent competency

·Advanced knowledge of JD Edwards Financials, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Fixed Assets. Versions 8.x and higher preferred

·Advanced knowledge of JD Edwards Job Costing preferred

·Basic knowledge of other JD Edwards modules such as Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, and Manufacturing preferred

·Practical accounting experience preferred

·Software implementation experience

·Experience in an international setting

·Expected to complete projects within specified deadlines

·Expected to work occasional weekends, holidays, and overtime

·Expected to perform on-call duties

·Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% by auto and air. Some travel may be international

·Creates weekly status report

·Fully documents requirements according to current standards

·Creates gap analysis on assigned items
