For more information about ADM and its products, visitwww.adm.com. Instrumentation Supervisor- Cedar Rapids, IA This is a full time, exempt position. BASIC FUNCTION: The Instrumentation Supervisor is responsible for planning and execution of the daily work schedule and managing the hourly instrumentation tradesmen. This position assists in troubleshooting equipment problems, assigning jobs to specific tradesmen, ensuring safe work practices are followed, and arranging for overtime coverage as needed. The Instrumentation Supervisor will ensure hourly tradesmen adhere to all company policies and procedures using positive feedback when possible and discipline when necessary. When unplanned breakdowns occur, the supervisor will reassign the workforce as needed to maximize production capacity. Safety toolbox talks are given daily, attendance issues are coordinated, and development of personnel is ongoing. SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES ·Takes an active role leading Safety procedures, Safe plans of action, and Safety training with the same importance as performing the technical requirements of the job and holding Safety to the higher standard. ·Coordinate, plan, estimate and assigns the work of the Instrumentation Technicians. ·Coordinate, develop, review, purchase materials for projects and work orders. ·Monitors work accomplishment for quantity, quality, safe work practices, and cGMP’s against accepted department and company standards. ·Prepares work orders in the Maximo (Computerized Maintenance Management System) so costs and work history are properly documented. ·Continuous monitoring of PM program to include effectiveness and applicability. ·Work with Operations and Maintenance Planners to prioritize required repair work and to ensure that the procedures for monitoring equipment meet the needs of the company. ·Coach employees in the areas of job performance, attendance, safety and other related appraisal criteria. ·Monitor training for the department and develop new procedures to improve the effectiveness of training and address new training needs to insure department effectiveness and safety. ·Maintain plant instrumentation files and other documentation. ·Develop and maintain a MAXIMO controlled warehouse. ·Performs other duties as assigned. External Job Description - Continued EDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIRED ·All required safety training ·High School Diploma or Equivalent ·Post-Secondary Education, Associates Degree in a Technical Field or Equivalent Experience ·Documented Instrumentation Training EXPERIENCE PREFERRED * Excellent safety record · Previous supervisory experience * Understands Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety * Able to work well with others with a strong emphasis on teamwork * Experience with instrument systems troubleshooting, rebuild and parts programs. * Experience developing preventive and predictive maintenance programs * Knowledge in process controls * Extensive knowledge of ADM’s processes and equipment · Excellent communication skills, oral and written · Excellent organizational skills · Experience with instrument systems rebuild and parts programs. SKILLS PREFERRED ·Complete understanding of Safety Policy/Procedures and demonstrated Safety Leadership ·Excellent safety awareness ·Troubleshooting experience and skills ·Excellent organizational skills and communication skills ·Computer Literate ·Self-motivated with proven leadership ability ·Good decision making ability and consistency ·Ability to motivate and train employees Relocation assistance is available with this position.
