Lead Mechanic – Waggaman, LA
American River Transportation Company (ARTCO)

This is a full-time, hourly level position.

-Work Schedule- Base 40 hour week, overtime if available. alternating weekend call



On-call Duties and Responsibilities:

General Boat Maintenance

•Monitor engine room logs and keep Port Engineer aware of items listed on engine room logs. Items should not continually appear on Engine Room.

•Keep log of maintenance repairs and parts used

•Order and keep track of parts inventory

•Call and assist specialists when needed (i.e. outside vendors)

•Monitor all Shipyard repairs and coordinate vessel availability and repair authorization with Port Engineer

Routine Maintenance

•Perform and log routine maintenance activities

•Keep track of parts and supplies ordered for routine maintenance

•Check engine room logs to keep up with maintenance performed by deck crew

Qualifications:
To be considered for an opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

•Marine Diesel experience

•Leadership experience

•Excellent communicator

•Problem solving mindset
•Commitment to ADM’s goal of achieving a zero injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures
•Exhibit regular and prompt attendance
•Able to meet physical requirements of the position including, but not limited to: prolonged periods of standing and sitting, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc), lift up to 55 lbs unassisted
•Willing to work overtime and weekends
•Demonstrate initiative to work independently while flexible enough to work in team setting when needed
•Exhibit a professional image at all times; maintain a positive and respectful attitude
