Maintenance Technician – Waggaman, LA

American River Transportation Company (ARTCO)
This is a full-time, hourly level position.

-Work Schedule- Base 40 hour week, overtime if available. Some afterhours call outs.

This position troubleshoots and performs maintenance and repairs on a variety of mechanical equipment at ARTCO New Orleans Shipyard.

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Repairs friction, rough terrain, hydraulic, and tower cranes and other hoisting equipment, barge and dry dock pumps, shears, compressors, presses, forklifts, tractors and lawn mowers
· Troubleshoots and tests engines, equipment and systems
· Determine parts needed and create purchase requisitions for the parts and equipment
· Replacing & servicing parts using wrenches, ratchets, or basic power tools
· Performs duties such as welding and torch burning iron and some repairing of electrical work
· Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for all equipment.
· Consult with equipment maintenance and parts vendors.
· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

•Diesel engine experience
•Leadership experience
•Excellent communicator
•Problem solving mindset
•Commitment to ADM’s goal of achieving a zero injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures
•Exhibit regular and prompt attendance
•Able to meet physical requirements of the position including, but not limited to: prolonged periods of standing and sitting, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc), lift up to 55 lbs unassisted
•Willing to work overtime and weekends
•Demonstrate initiative to work independently while flexible enough to work in team setting when needed
•Exhibit a professional image at all times; maintain a positive and respectful attitude
