Packing and Loading Supervisor – ADM Milling Co., Midland, Ontario.

The Packing and Loading Supervisor will assist the Plant Manager in all matters pertaining to packing, shipping, receiving, warehousing and inventory control of packaging material and finished goods, including packaged and bulk products.

The Packing and Loading Supervisor’s role is to coordinate the people, fixed assets and operational practices of the Packing and Loading department.

The responsibilities include:

Quality and Sanitation: responsible for maintaining an environment that assures our customers receive a wholesome and safe product delivered to their specifications by ensuring that all quality assurance and food safety programs are enforced.
• Correct quality issues
• Proactively address quality issues
• Assist in integrating HACCP and sampling procedures in the loading, packing and warehouse area
• Ensure that employees provide adequate and accurate production records as required.
• Manage sanitation aspects of packing, shipping, receiving and storage.
• Ensure adherence to all established Food Safety Policies and Procedures.
Compliance with Environmental Programs: Ensure that all environmental protection programs are followed to assure a safe work environment and to sustain ADM’s reputation as a good corporate neighbor.
• Proactively manage the environmental aspects of your area.

Profitability and Production Efficiency: This position is accountable for managing the packaging and warehouse areas in a manner that will help achieve the goal of safely packaging, storing and handling material and reducing waste.
• Reduce cost and operating expense
• Regularly review the production cost of all products
• Reduce or eliminate production barriers
• Manage efforts to reduce or eliminate waste
• Asset management and preservation, including preventive maintenance programs.
• Maintain adequate levels of packaging material and spare parts inventory
• Assist the Plant Manager in the development of Capital Projects to improve upon production and cost efficiencies.

Employee Development: Create a work environment that capitalizes on employee knowledge, skill and ability.
• Sponsor and direct the orientation, familiarization and training of new employees
• Support orientation and training programs

Communication and Teamwork: Communicate frequently with the plant scheduler and other department supervisors.
? Foster positive working relationships between departments
? Create an environment where information and ideas flow freely between all levels of employees

Reporting and Administration: Assist the Plant Manager in ensuring that required documentation is processed and filed in a timely manner.
• Assist in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley act
• Prioritize external reports and monitor recurring internal reports
• Develop techniques and methods that continuously improve reporting efficiency and accuracy
• Ensure the accuracy of all daily as well as other cyclical inventory reports.
