This is an exempt level position.

The ideal candidate will excel in logistics and personnel management. Dispatch equipment on a timely basis to meet our customer demands. Assure that the tug boats are fully crewed, while making sure that the crews are top performers in all areas. Train crews in safety and incident-reducing techniques. Project a positive image of you and the company at all times while utilizing your strong voice and personality. Use strong problem-solving skills to decipher logistical challenges. Analyze reports and pull together profit/loss statements. Constantly think outside of the box” to find solutions with limited resources.

Requirements:

College degree required with emphasis on basic knowledge of the marine industry and the logical movement of cargo and the equipment used to transport the cargo (e.g., barges). Initially, must be willing to be away from home during training period. Must also be willing to relocate for short-term or long-term assignments to any one of the ARTCO locations in IL, WI, MN, IA, LA. This position requires proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, along with other computer applications to logistically move cargo. This position cannot have any physical limitations in making/breaking tow, working indoors/outdoors, standing, kneeling, operating a keyboard, sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time, climbing stairs/ladders and communication via telephone/radio, etc. The candidate must be able to hear and speak clearly; read, comprehend and communicate, orally and in writing in order to effectively communicate in person or by phone.
