Shipping Manager-Quincy, IL External Job Description - Continued ADM Alliance Nutrition, Inc. – a fully-owned subsidiary of Archer Daniels Midland Company and national manufacturer of livestock feed with over 40 locations in North America is seeking a Shipping Manager at our Quincy, IL feed manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for overseeing the effective operation of the Shipping Dept. This includes the supervision of employees in these areas; specifically, vacation time scheduling, maintaining the point system, monitoring performance, and ensuring personnel coverage meets the needs of distribution. This position has a key role in helping make sure all safety procedures are followed in all areas of the plant. Additional responsibilities include: •Active, hands-on involvement and daily presence within the facility. Works closely with the warehouse employees and oversees the general warehouse training for new employees. •Helps in overseeing of warehouse employees’ job performance and responsibility. •Troubleshoot problems within the shipping dept. and other areas of the plant. •Monitor and coordinate housekeeping. •Participates in and coordinates personnel on inventory reconciliations. •Works closely with office personnel in coordinating shipments and deliveries. •Perform weekly safety audits. •Acts as a liaison between employees and management. •Oversees and approves employee’s time cards. •Monitor the workplace for improvements and safety concerns. •Hold Toolbox meetings weekly. •Monitor imported items, Assist CSR’s with ordering. •Respond to and follow up on Customer complaints. •Work closely with personnel from Quincy Office dealing with scheduling and production issues. •Reviews and retain proper shipping paperwork, receipts and bill of ladings. •Participates in the monthly sanitation/quality/GMP audits. •Work closely with Director of Logistics to ensure cost efficiencies. •Monitor and schedule deliveries with Dedicated Fleet Drivers. •All other duties required to effectively manage Shipping dept. and personnel. Requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience), related industry knowledge, and computer skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
