Medical Director

Manifest the Alegent Health mission and commitments; act as a role model for ethical and values based leadership

Provide support to the campus Quality Committee, and to other campus or service line Medical Directors in quality initiatives that affect the assigned campus.

Support the development and sustainability of superior clinical quality at the assigned campus. Participate in meetings with quality staff and front line clinical staff to assess quality opportunities and realize improvements.

Provide clinical support to the elected medical staff at each campus. Participate in system and campus quality meetings. Attend as a non-voting member and serve as a resource to the medical staff leadership in PEC and Credentialling Committees.

Support the development and implementation of a Quality Plan for the campus and/or assigned service lines; develop quality indicators and metrics as needed
QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Licensure / Experience

A minimum 3-5 years progressive healthcare leadership experience.

Masters degree desirable in public health, health administration, business, or related field.

Board certification in specialty, or a history of prior certification

Member of the active medical staff at the assigned campus

In active practice within their specialty, preferred

Dedicated to a single site preferred. May function at more than one site, as mutually agreed upon by the campuses.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Must possess strong relationship skills; planning and implementation skills and superior communication skills. Must demonstrate personal traits of a high level of motivation and initiative; team orientation; professionalism; trust and place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect. Must be comfortable working within a pluralistic medical staff model with matrix accountabilities.

Selection Process

Position will be posted and interested candidates may apply. A selection committee, consisting of medical staff, administration, nursing and peer representation will assist the Chief Quality Officer in the selection process. Performance metrics will be developed in conjunction with campus leadership and reviewed annually.
