CPR Instructor

Evenings and Weekends part time
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNT ABILITIES
Reviews/revises class content as needed in collaboration with Community Training Center CTC Coordinator and American Heart Association updates.
The instructor has a responsibility to follow the appropriate curriculum of the course he or she teaches and to ensure that students have the appropriate course materials.
As an advocate for the participant, the instructor has an obligation to help the participant master course material and skills. If the participant is unable to perform the skills or complete the written examination in a satisfactory manner, the instructor should clearly communicate to the participant the skills that require improvement and should be able to do so in a supportive manner.
Educational Requirements
BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Red Cross: CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute: CPR, PRO, must say Professional Level-with AED, and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.

Experience conducting educational classes.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Must possess strong knowledge of American Heart Association guidelines for Healthcare Provider classes. As an educator, must be aware of components associated with adult learning, have a comfort level with speaking in front of groups of people, and be able to comfortably interact with people. Must possess ability to direct group dynamics to maintain a positive group experience. Must be self assured and able to function independently.
