Alliance for Justice (AFJ) is a national association of public interest organizations spanning a range of issues, including civil rights, social justice, consumer and environmental protection. Since its inception in 1979, AFJ has worked to advance the cause of justice for all Americans, strengthen the public interest community's ability to influence public policy, and foster the next generation of advocates.
AFJs West Coast Office, based in Oakland, CA, is a satellite operation extending the reach of the national organization based in Washington, DC. The West Coast Office is primarily engaged in delivering AFJs national projects, the Nonprofit Advocacy Project and Foundation Advocacy Initiative, to organizations and activists on the West Coast. These projects work to increase nonprofit participation in advocacy and lobbying work by offering workshops, technical assistance, web resources and easy-to-read publications to a broad range of nonprofit organizations (including foundations) across the country.

AFJs West Coast Office seeks an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to assist with AFJs social media efforts. We are looking for someone with a passion for the web including blogging, social networking sites, and experience with Web 2.0.

This is an unpaid internship designed to offer practical experience to a current student. We are willing to work with the applicant to arrange for school credit for this position. We require at least 15 hours per week.
