Description The Application Performance Engineer is accountable for the performance of priority one applications. There are three primary responsibilities. The first is to design, program and analyze results of production performance simulations. Results of these simulations are used to warranty the health of software release in terms of it's potential impact on current production performance. The second is to analyze current production performance and report it in the context of business impact. The third is to recommend improvements , architectural, environmental, code changes and so on, that will improve the production Performance of an application. Responsibilities include:
  • Using TPT processes and tools to design and implement simulations.
  • Analysis of simulation results and their impact on performance and availability of applications.
  • Participation in the release Go/NoGO process.
  • Producing results document containing observations and recommendations for performance improvements.
  • Analyzing production application performance and creating problem records
  • Facilitating conversations with application teams on recommendations for improvements.
  • Use of Client Vantage and Dynatrace tooling to understand performance and identify potential improvements / fixes.
  • Programming application performance improvements and working with the application teams to implement the changes in to releases.
  • Programming proof of concepts to validate proposed performance changes.
  • Programming of automation tooling for scenario execution and results gathering and analysis.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of TPT COE tooling and processes.
  • Supporting the Environment and Data coordinators for technical issues.
  • Debugging errors in the TPT Environment and coordinating their correction with the appropriate teams.


Qualifications
  • Strong communication and organizational skills (required).
  • Application Development skills (Required).
  • SQL skills (Required)
  • PL/SQL experience (optional)
  • .NET development and tooling (optional)
  • Java Websphere development and tooling (optional)
  • Knowledge of Load Runner tooling (optional)
  • Knowledge of Client Vanatage tool (Optional)
  • Knowledge of Dyna Trace tool (Optional)
  • Strong SQL skill is a plus
  • Experience with Load Testing, Profiling and code optimization tools is a plus.
