Location: FRA-Grenoble-Grenoble Job Title Welding supervisor (Welding trainer & Suppliers’ welding supervisor) Purpose of the Job Inside a process specialists team, he has knowledge and practical know-how in his field : welding / welded structure fabrication. In those specialities, he should guarantee optimal quality of realization, cost and lead time. His scope of work encloses as well turbines (Grenoble, Barcelona), generators (Belfort, Bilbao, Birr) than hydromechanical (Moirans). Those missions imply travels most of the time (Alstom locations but mainly subcontractors) abroad. The mission is double : - be the local Welding Trainer for the Grenoble workshop welders : 30 % - secure our supplies being Suppliers’ welding supervisor (short or medium duration stays) : 70 % Responsibilities Technical support/development to welded-structure suppliers in Europe (mainly Eastern Europe : Bulgaria, Poland, Czech Republic) The mission will be located in suppliers' workshops min. 75 % of the time, after an adaptation period in Grenoble with the Alstom's welding specialists. Our main expectation is to have somebody able to learn welders and weld shop management how to achieve good welds in due time. Between missions in suppliers', short projects will be assigned to the specialist : validation of welding books, preparation of WPQR... Main other mission will be to monitor the Grenoble Welding School in order to train and qualify welders of the workshop. This part of the mission will take approximately 25 % of the time. Educational Requirements Technician specialized in welding / welded structure fabrication Knowledge / Experience >15 years of experience in welded structure fabrication workshop (ideally, components of big dimensions (more than 3 m) with a high level of accuracy (less than 0.1 mm after machining)), including management of welders (>5 years). Behavioural and Technical Skills / Competencies Please insert any behavioural and technical skills/competencies required Technical skills / competencies : >15 years of experience in welded structure fabrication workshop (ideally, components of big dimensions (more than 3 m) with a high level of accuracy (less than 0.1 mm after machining)), including management of welders (>5 years). A good knowledge of ASME code is required ; good knowledge of other codes / international standards would be appreciated. To be able to analyse situations and propose adapted solutions in short term delays.
