Job ID 199890 Location US-KY-Hebron Posted Date 11/27/2012 Company Amazon.com.kydc LLC Position Category IT Apply for This Position * Apply for this position online * E-mail this position to a friend Position Details Job Description The Fulfillment Center Remote IT team provides 24/7 support of IT hardware, software, and systems in an on-site and on-call capacity for the Amazon Fulfillment Centers. The successful Remote IT Manager will be responsible for utilizing his/her skills to provide assistance to the operations team in resolving technical problems within the Fulfillment Center that cover a multitude of technical disciplines. This is a great opportunity to expand your technical horizons in a dynamic setting. Successful candidates will have at least one year of experience in at least one of the following disciplines: Linux/Unix Systems Administration, Windows Server Administration, Networking, Telecom, Help Desk/Technical Support, or Data Cabling/Computer Facilities. Flexibility and customer service focus as well as a demonstrable technical aptitude and a willingness to learn new skills are key to being successful at this position. Candidates must have demonstrable leadership skills in a high-production environment. Will coordinate training, manage resources, and direct the efforts of a small staff in a 24/7 shop. These efforts include coordination of trouble tickets, project distribution, scheduling of technicians work week, meeting with customers and upper operations management and representing the FC in team and availability meetings. Candidate must be forward thinking with a high degree of customer service focus and excellent communication skills. This is extremely critical to bridging the communication lines between Remote IT and Operations. As the leader of the team, the candidate must also ensure that trouble tickets are properly documented, ensure SLAs are met, and manage the Junior Remote IT crew; including, but not limited to scheduling for the work week, ensuring all SOPs and procedures are followed for inventory checkout, battery maintenance and proper inventories of IT related equipment. Basic Qualifications * § 5+ years people managing experience § Experience working with operations and business teams to communicate problem impacts and to understand business requirements. § Experience communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings § Ability to stand/walk for 10-12 hours per day § Willingness to work flexible schedule as necessary § Bachelor''s Degree required § Project management skills § Technical expertise in one or more IT related fields including networking, Linux administration, Microsoft administration, and/or Cisco network configuration and management § Understanding of core internet technologies - DHCP, DNS, mail transport, TCP/IP Preferred Qualifications § Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or technical discipline § High Degree of ownership in all matters within the IT infrastructure § Experience managing teams in a high pressure IT environment § Experience in Procurement, Budgeting, Forecasting, and Asset Management § Proven skills in leadership development and team building § Excellent understanding of computers § Superior technical aptitude § Proven ability to manage complex tasks § Strong analytical skills § Demonstrated problem solving ability § Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audience Amazon is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
