High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate and Associate’s Degree required. 6 months to 2 years of learning experience within several related job areas required. (Basic Job Knowledge) 2.5 Position Title: P/T Weekend Coordinator Grant funded: No Job Function: Hotel/Hospitality Helps to maintain daily operation of the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge Philadelphia during assigned hours. Remains on premises during assigned hours(Friday 4:00 PM until Monday 8:00 AM) . Provides services to residents (direct and supportive), provide clerical support to Hope Lodge Manager & Assistant Manager. Insures strong customer relations with guests and referring physicians, social workers, and nurses while maintaining a positive, supportive, and safe environment within the AstraZeneca Hope Lodge. •Schedules the occupancy of rooms; welcomes, registers and assigns guests and informs them of Lodge policies. •Collects donations from guests when applicable. •Assists in maintaining necessary Lodge records including registration, payment, and financial records, inventory of food and supplies, delivery and service records, etc. as directed by the assistant manager. •Provides services to guests including taking telephone messages and/or calls, keeps informed regarding guests’ confidential medical matters in order to assist as needed during difficult periods. •Assists with housekeeping and maintenance duties as needed. Oversees that guests perform light housekeeping as expected of them. •Assists with Lodge tours to potential residents, volunteers and others as needed. •Works cooperatively with other Lodge staff and volunteers. •Undertakes related duties as assigned and is acting manager while on duty. •Takes appropriate actions to ensure guests adherence to policies and procedures. •Acts in the best interest of the organization and enhances the image of the American Cancer Society in the public eye. •Assists in scheduling and supervising the work of volunteers at the Hope Lodge. •Maintains the safety and comfort of guests as a primary focus; continuously scans lodge and surrounding environment for breeches or threats to safety including fire hazards, local crime, traffic and severe weather; implements plans for evacuation or protection of lodge and guests from hazards as needed; develops viable relationships with local safety personnel and services. •In case of an emergency, responsible to notify the manager or assistant manager, as appropriate. •Undertakes other duties as assigned.
