Many of us in the office have benefited from internships in the past and understand the value that they can offer. We are willing to expose an intern to the varied world of non-profits through exposure and contact with all on staff. The individual would be invited to attend weekly staff meetings to see the departmental interaction that is necessary and the scope of projects undertaken. Specifically, we would involve the individual with convention related projects related to our convention which takes place in February. Specific responsibilities might include the following depending on the interest areas and skills of the intern:
Contact with speakers to secure materials for presentations, AV needs, bios, etc.
Assist with development of staging guide
Assist with compilation of proceedings manual
Member Service Calls: answering calls related to convention registration and events and possibly membership
Assisting with the development of marketing pieces for exhibitors
Assisting with ad sales for convention issues of the magazine
Contact with printers and other vendors on various convention projects; will learn about working within budgetary parameters
