Location: Arizona-Phoenix Other Locations: US-New York-New York This is an exciting time for Global Real Estate at American Express as we look to expand on and redefine how we manage our workplace. The Global Real Estate Technical Delivery team is looking for a Lead Business Architect (LBA) to take a visible leadership role on our transformational journey and perform as a subject matter expert for the corporate real estate portfolio. The LBA must have the ability to interpret business strategies within corporate real estate, and translate those strategies into tactical plans with technical solutions. The Corporate Real Estate Lead Business Architect will facilitate the optimization of business unit performance by enhancing the alignment between business processes and information technology. Construct and maintain the knowledge base of business capability in terms of business information and processes. Maintain the supporting documentation comprising the business architecture. Support the vertical and horizontal architecture teams to facilitate technical solutions for business requirements supporting the organization’s architecture vision. Contribute to end-to-end business process mapping for capabilities supported by the vertical architecture team. Additional responsibilities include: * Perform as a subject matter expert for the business process supported by the platform/applications in the portfolio * Has responsibility for understanding and interpreting the business strategy within the supported portfolio * Partner with Global Real Estate business subject matter experts and Technical Architecture Teams to define a multi-year strategic plan * Conversant in real estate business processes across real estate processes, including FM, CAFM, lease management, etc. * Has responsibility for ensuring that the engineered software environment meets the specifications in terms of business requirements, application design, and infrastructure requirements; for example, accountable for the performance and efficiency of platforms/applications * May lead teams performing architecture initiatives from inception through conclusion * Will have responsibility for coaching and mentoring resources on real estate functions, processes, and tools, and provides advice, guidance, and assistance to less experienced colleagues, as required * Builds and maintains a business architecture framework by: * Working within the architecture vertical team to describe the current baseline business architectures * Working within the architecture vertical team to develop a target business architecture, describing the product and/or service strategy, and the organizational, functional, process, information, and geographic aspects of the business environment, based on business principles, goals and strategic drivers * Documenting the baseline and target business architecture using modeling techniques and tools as appropriate and at the right level of detail * Analyzing the gaps between the baseline and target business architectures * Producing work objects and deliverables contributing to a roadmap and migration plan to work towards the target business architecture * Maintaining business models and other business architecture outputs from creation to subsequent refresh cycles * Working within the architecture vertical team to produce an IT platform strategy that aligns with the business strategy; using the business architecture outputs to bridge between business and technology functions * Proactively ensure that business value and outcomes are achieved through the project lifecycle * Produce and maintain business process maps and functions for the supporting technology objects (applications, platforms, components) * Maintain active involvement in projects within the scope of the portfolio and be a signatory for project analysis documentation, ensuring that the developments align with the portfolio and enterprise level architecture strategy * Corporate real estate experience, including facilities management, CAFM, or lease administration, is preferred * Prior experience in multiple IT disciplines, with a proven understanding of architectural concepts (data, technical, and solution), issues, and trends * Requires advanced to expert level knowledge and understanding of business architecture, applications systems design, and integration * Extensive experience using a systems analysis and design methodology, and an excellent understanding of industry trends and tools * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Architecture, Business Administration, or other related field, or has equivalent work experience Apply on Company Website |
