Description

The contractor shall provide Network Administration support of the CISCO, Juniper and other branded switches to include creating virtual local area networks (VLANs), securing port configuration, managing the configuration files; maintaining the network's integrity including installing new network switch infrastructure, troubleshooting and resolving network issues, as well as developing, applying and enforcing the MCNOSC procedures and policies for use of the Local Area Network; support Data Center Management of the S6 controlled server areas and telecommunication rooms. The contractor shall perform Data Center Management responsibilities and coordination with Enterprise Data Center Manager. The contractor shall provide the following network administration support: - Compile, record, and report network operations and maintenance. Troubleshoot network performance issues. Analyzes network traffic and provides capacity planning solutions. - Monitor and respond to complex technical control facility hardware and network switch operating systems software issues such as misconfigurations and upgrades. Interface with network switch vendors support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. - Manage the purchase, testing, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN/BAN systems. - Execute large-scale systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies. - Provide quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products. - Provide assistance and oversight for all information systems operations activities, including computer and telecommunications/communications operations, data entry, data control, LAN/BAN administration and operations support, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, and web strategy and operations. - Monitor and respond to hardware, software, and network problems. - Provide the routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities (including power, software, communications machinery, lines, modems, and terminals). - Utilize software and hardware tools and identify and diagnose complex problems and factors affecting network performance. - Troubleshoot network systems when necessary and makes improvements to the network. - Data Center Management - manage all of the S6 controlled telecom and server areas. The following certifications are required for contractor personnel providing Network Administration Support: - Security+; Network+; CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA); - 8570 Information Assurance Technician (IAT)
