Working as a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will be required to demonstrate your highly technical skills within a specific technology discipline. To attain this technical level, you will be required to have or be capable of exhibiting significant contributions in specific complex technical areas. Your contribution can be external to the company, but shall be primarily internal. As the Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will be recognized in the company as a technical leader within a specific area and may lead projects of small to medium size and technical breath. Overall Purpose: Develops solutions to complex business and technical problems or issues of complex scope using advanced engineering and scientific principles.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Applies engineering principles and practice in broad areas of complex technical project work that requires in-depth analysis using advanced techniques, knowledge, and expertise. Provides technical expertise within project teams.

Education: Required: PhD, Masters or Bachelors degree in an approved field such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Mathematics from an accredited university. Refer to the Technical Title Plan for a complete list of degrees. Experience: PhD in an approved field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or Masters in an approved field with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors in an approved field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Environmental Requirements: This position may be responsible for contributing to ATTs compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. Required Qualifications -

Job Summary:

The perspective candidate will have expert experience in the development and testing of CPE controller systems related to home automation and control system. The subcomponents of the CPE system include IP Cameras, video streaming, and generalized analog / digital peripheral control designs.

The candidate must have knowledge in the development and testing of electronic systems based on requirements defined by specific product and business organizations. In addition to developing and testing electronic designs, the candidate must show competency in the domain of video processing, video surveillance, WAN/LAN technologies, signal processing, testing, and full system test integration.

In addition the candidate must have strong background in quality assurance methodology principals to assist in the creation and execution of test solutions, both manual and automated. They will be responsible for creating test specifications based on product and customer requirements, and will be expected to be able to carry out manual and automated test execution, liaising with the development group to ensure that product issues are captured and successfully resolved.

Required Qualifications Technical -

*Candidate shall have a PhD in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in an approved field from an accredited university and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

*Minimum of 8-10 years of experience as a System Test Engineer

*5+ years of experience required in related field (i.e., video, telco, satellite, cable); 3+ years of experience required

*Experience with Video coding and processing algorithms for real-time encoder/transcoder products in streaming or broadcast applications

*Experience with video processing Algorithms and development

-Strong signal processing theory background

*Experience with C++, OOP, STL, UML, Windows programming, and Visual Studio

*Expert in the use of one or more schematic capture systems

*Working knowledge in the design of microcontroller systems and a significant background in electronic design

*Five or more years of experience with software, embedded software or hardware development/testing and automation through all phases of the software development lifecycle and at least three years of experience with network protocols, and IP networks

•Familiarity with GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA and LTE Air Interfaces

•Experience with embedded code development and testing

*A strong understanding of security technology in the areas of VPN, firewalls, proxy, and IDS/IPS as well as experience in LINUX, UNIX, Solaris and Windows

*Candidate must have a strong communication skills both verbally and written as well as strong problem solving skills.

*Ability to balance and prioritize work and work independently and as part of a team

Detailed Qualification -

*Lead and Provide direct engineering support and testing of CPE specifically selected by the Digital Life organization.

*Consistently utilizes excellent listening, probing and analytical skills to identify Digital Life customer’s technical issues for one-call resolution

*Review and provide feedback around design documents, functional specifications, and test plans

*Develop test plans and test cases that validate customer requirements are met including system installations

*Test and assure quality of hardware and software with a specific focus on interfaces

*Lead cross functional teams in the development and analysis of requirements in order to develop, execute, and document test cases and results

*Lead other team members in the development of test fixtures for rainy day scenarios that would occur in the design of Digital Life CPE

*Experience in testing production-quality end user software

*Strong back ground in network protocols* Firm understanding of multilayer communications including both TCP, UDP, socket programming etc.

*Experience in testing real-time and multi-threaded systems

*Experience in testing on mobile or embedded devices

*Experience in video processing and codecs

*Work with other teams within Engineering Support or other departments to diagnose and solve customer problems

*Manage defects, escalations to other groups to drive issues to resolution

*Function as a “Product Engineering Expert” by keeping current with the latest supported product technology and keep the product knowledge base (FAQs and Solutions) up to date.

*Improve test and support processes such as white papers, bulletins, etc.

*Manage workload while being able to resolve time-critical situations professionally

*Working with cross functional teams in the development and analysis of requirements in order to create, develop, execute, and document test cases and results. Develop and lead other team members with the development of test fixtures for rainy day scenarios

*Set up and configure hardware and software lab environments for testing purposes

*Prepare time estimates and work plan, necessary to achieve the goals for assigned projects/features

*Establish and maintain strong working relationships with cross functional team members

*Software testing fundamental concepts including system, smoke, regression, load, white box, black box, positive, negative, and boundary testing

*Working Knowledge of the Agile Software Development Life Cycle including TDD and ATDD

*Proficient with the HP Quality Center test management tool (4+ years preferred)

*Working Knowledge with automation and performance tools such as Selenium, QuickTest Professional, LoadRunner or custom automation tool (4+ year preferred)

*Ability to write detailed scripts in at least one, preferably two administrative languages from Shell scripts, Perl, Python, VbScripts etc. (4+ year preferred)

*Ability to debug and modify existing scripts, configuration, system setup, etc.

*Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems

*Expert in LINUX/UNIX shell commands and utilities

*Working knowledge with SQL, PL/SQL, database tools e.g. - TOAD, SQL Developer* (4+ years preferred)
