Description of Position:
The role of the Senior Developer is to develop and support application and database architecture solutions for the varied business units within Corporate and retail locations. This person works to define technical requirements and gain an understanding of the business to be effective at satisfying system requests. Key responsibilities of this position include: work with business owners to define, design, and develop requirements given time and budget constraints.

Organizational Relationships:
This position reports to the Director of Business Intelligence. This person's customers are the internal and external consumers, including corporate, district, dealership associates, and vendor partners. Works with application teams to successfully design and deliver custom and integrated solutions.

Job Responsibilities:
Participate in project development life cycle from design and planning to delivery
Develop application solutions and enhancements that meet user requirements
Follow development standards for enterprise and application architecture
Follow database development standards for enterprise and application databases
Document the technical architecture of application databases, enterprise databases, and data warehouse
Document the database logical and physical components and their functionality
Addresses indexing strategies, database objects maintenance (size and physical location), processing patterns and CPU usage management, temporary space and rollback segments, RAID implementation, and other technical issues
Work closely with the production DBAs to help ensure the physical design meets the functional and performance requirements of the application
Implement various approaches for obtaining data from diverse source systems and platforms
Analyze problems as assigned and provide solutions to address business needs
Assist in the rollout of new applications, problem fixes, and enhancements of software
Mentor junior developers on application teams for best practice methodology and programming standards
Understand how assigned programs link with those of other programs and the overall system
Create consistent and accurate technical and end-user documentation of implemented applications, databases and systems
Perform detailed planning and estimation of work effort involved in the development, and support of solutions
Designate work assignments and perform appropriate follow up to ensure that tasks are completed on time
Follow processes and procedures to improve the development team's productivity, focusing on resolving problems raised by team members
Implement ETL and other data movement requirements

Required Experience
Mandatory:
3-5 years experience with Windows, Web, and SQL development
Minimum 3 years designing, developing, and supporting databases (Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, XML)
Minimum 2 year designing, developing, and supporting multi-dimensional databases (Microsoft SSAS, MDX)
Previous business analysis experience
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred:
NET, ASP.NET, and C# development, MSMQ, SOAP, XML, Dundas Dashboard
Experience with Object Oriented designs, middle-ware architectures, distributed computing solutions
Cube development and MDX development in Microsoft Analysis Services
Experience with ETL and other data movement strategies
Physical Requirements:

Required Education
An undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, or similar field is required
