About this opportunity...
Your primary charter as Product Marketing Manager is to be smart, energetic, socially savvy, and a creative thinker. You will be developing and implementing comprehensive marketing plans for our various solution offerings. You will be an integral part of our product planning team, expected to lead the initiatives driving customer interest, competitive market research, pricing strategy, and identification of new distribution channels and target audiences. In this role you’ll conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits is crucial. You will be an expert in understanding the needs of the education customer and how to position our products to address those needs. Our products define who we are – when we market them well, we win. This individual will be a key leader within our growing organization helping to set the strategy and direction for transforming how professional learning is happening in education today.

Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products in the market.
Product launch – plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
Market intelligence – be the expert on our buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on our competition and how to position our products in the marketplace.
Assist in developing strategic partnerships and joint ventures that strengthen product visibility, reach, and position in market.
Develop packaging and pricing models for our SaaS solutions and services to reach multiple segments of the education market value chain
Works with creative and digital agencies to develop all merchandising material including packaging, advertising slicks, trade show graphics, point-of-purchase displays, online and social campaigns, and other collateral material.
Be an expert on our products and how they’re used in the market, understand how to mine our customer list, and be able to translate this knowledge into high-impact materials that clearly communicate the value of our products to the marketplace.
Develop website content to drive sales through clear, high-impact company and product information.
Establish and maintain a marketing relationship with key customers who are willing to be references for case studies and speaking events.
Assist with sales training and sales support tools, as well as product positioning – ensure all sales members can internalize and clearly communicate our product positioning and message.
Define, develop and execute the product marketing programs for our direct clients and verticals, strategic partners and new channels.
Work collaboratively with our Professional Services team as a channel to develop use cases, how-to guides and case study examples
What We’re Looking For:
Self-motivated, results-oriented, innovative marketing professional with proven success leading initiatives that drive customer demand, product positioning and messaging, in competitive market research, and identification of new distribution channels that help to reach our revenue goals.
Strong leadership, managerial and operational skills with the ability to own and drive projects to completion.
Strong work ethic, passion, and results-oriented with the ability to set and achieve goals and deadlines and deliver within tight timelines.
Task and project-oriented with a sense of priority, logic and objectivity.
Strong leadership and a collaborative team player.
Sound decision-making and critical thinking skills.
Background in the educational and non-profit sectors strong plus.
6 to 10 years of experience in product marketing roles to drive the message, create market leadership, and evangelize the product; education industry and background a strong plus
Experience launching software as a service product suites and services.
Experience building and executing strategic product marketing plans
Experience in using the social media methods to create viral growth
Experience developing packaging and pricing models for SaaS products and services to multiple verticals and channels.
Ability to work in an agile; startup environment is a must
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of establishing credibility with key customers, prospects and business partners, sales, customer support and development
Experience in developing effective and creative product marketing collateral, such as web content, data sheets, high impact sales materials and white papers
Ability to travel, up to 20%
Highly analytical; ability to define and track the key metrics for various product marketing efforts
