Title: Program Manager, Toxicology

As Program Manager, Toxicology this individual will facilitate implementation of Avon's nutritional/dietary supplement product development strategy. The candidate will be directly responsible for product safety, including conducting novel raw ingredient and product risk assessments, coordinate the implementation of worldwide regulatory compliance strategy and maintain awareness of global raw ingredient restrictions and regulations pertaining to product composition, manufacture, labeling requirements, etc. for all nutritional/dietary supplement products sold by Avon. Prepare scientific reports and dossiers for internal and external use in support of the safety of Avon products. Working closely with Global and Regional Regulatory Affairs, this individual will also be expected to identify global product safety/regulatory trends, communicate their likely impact on product development to senior management and develop/implement an appropriate corporate response as necessary. Coordinating the activities of marketing, Product Development, R&D support groups (Toxicology, Microbiology, and Analytical), external consultants, vendors and third-party manufacturers will be required, as necessary.
Relevant technical degree (PhD or MD), a minimum of 5 years industry experience in toxicology/safety assessment and at least 2 years in a supervisory/management role. Extensive knowledge of and proficiency in risk assessment principles/practices are essential. Nutrition/dietary supplement product safety experience a significant plus.

Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams in support of development of safe & effective consumer products. Must exhibit excellent oral and written communication, organizational and problem-solving skills. Must be an effective communicator to both scientific and non-scientific audiences. The candidate must be flexible and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment. Strong computer skills are essential.
