We are seeking a Senior Manager to join our Innovation group within our New Technology department. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the efforts in identifying, developing and driving commercialization of first-to-market consumer product opportunities that utilize innovative technologies in the hair care and color cosmetics categories. The candidate is expected to establish strategies for integrating formulation efforts and conceptual product ideas, based on innovative ingredient technologies and novel consumer insights, into fully actionable and functional product prototypes that demonstrate unique and consumer perceivable benefits aligned with marketing strategies. The candidate will be responsible for planning, designing and executing technical approaches as part of a matrix environment, which will require sound judgment, critical observation and problem solving skills, resource planning, and interpersonal influence within a multi-disciplinary structure. It is expected that the candidate will have a broad technical knowledge base and understanding of material trends both within and outside of the cosmetic industry, and that they will be able to manage multiple projects under aggressive timelines.

The candidate should have a BS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Sciences or related fields, with an advanced degree being preferred. The candidate will preferably have a minimum of 10 years of experience in developing innovative new product formulations for hair care and/or color cosmetics, including 4 years of supervisory experience. Key requirements for this position are proven technical depth and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and initiatives, with exemplary leadership and influence skills to drive new concepts from initiation to completion. Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and oral). Must be flexible, work well under pressure and use sound judgment, and be a team player in a matrix work environment. Must have a strong consumer oriented focus, be proficient with computers, and adept in the review of patents and overall intellectual property strategies.
