Though we're busy, we're small enough that your successes will be noticed. You'll also have valuable opportunities to interface directly with management, giving you strong exposure within a multi-billion dollar organization. Career advancement is a hallmark of the HHI experience, and we are committed to promoting from within whenever possible. Though this role will keep you challenged for several years to come, if you're hungry, future opportunities could arise -- especially if you're open to relocation.

The Hardware Home Improvement group has well-known brands, many of which you may have in your own home. Spectrum Brands has acknowledged the stability and performance we bring to their portfolio, and they have granted HHI a good deal of leeway in running the business the way we know best.

Great culture -- you'll benefit from a strong, collaborative culture within an organization focused on its people. Keys to Success

Ours is a fast-paced, high-volume, widely automated, customer oriented environment. To illustrate – of the $1.2 billion in HHI annual sales, $550 million worth of products pass through this distribution center. To be successful here you should not only be comfortable with the pace, you should be motivated by it. For example, our service metrics require shipment within 48 hours of receiving an order, and it will be your responsibility to ensure that your team hits that and other key metrics. That doesn't mean that your style should be heavy-handed – that won't work in our culture; it simply means that you will leverage a focused, straightforward leadership style that motivates and drives your team to deliver their best performance.

On average you will be responsible for a team of approximately 40, consisting of long tenured individuals, those who have been with us just a short time, and a temp pool from which we hire our permanent team. To excel, you should take the time to get to know your team, establish your credibility, and develop open lines of communication. You will be there to guide and coach them, but also to evaluate individual performance metrics, acknowledging when someone is doing a great job and determining the appropriate solution when someone is not. An exceptional Outbound Supervisor will not only be motivated to help their team succeed, they also will be driven to achieve personally. It will mean balancing teamwork and autonomy, at times being thick-skinned but also leaving lines of communication open, and working as a valuable management team member able to find solutions and get things done.
