Closing Date: Aug. 31, 2013 Store: Littleton CO 080 Franchise Job Location: Denver Metro - Denver County Employment Type: Full Time Salary Range: negotiable Description: Batteries Plus is now hiring customer-driven, responsible, sales-oriented retail sales associates for the Denver Metro area. Full time associates must have full availability including weekends and evenings. Must be able to lift 75lbs., communicate effectively with retail and business customers, and have an outgoing personality. Duties: Duties include but are not limited to: General Function Assist Customers by asking questions to determine need, answering questions, and selling solutions, in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner. Participate in retail store and commercial sales activities in order to achieve sales and profit goals. Demonstrate strategic behavior and approach, and be tactically decisive. Participate on a team inspired to innovate, contribute, and deliver. Understand your span of control and stay focused on positively impacting the items that can be controlled. Be influential and persuasive and be supportive of change. Essential Responsibilities Demonstrate a Customer First mentality. Perform general duties of Sales Associate including: Greeting customers, determining needs, and answering questions. Add-on selling and up selling. Asking questions to identify potential commercial customers. Operating computer/cash register to complete sales transactions with accuracy. Answering phones and ensuring messages are relayed Rotating and stocking inventory. Installing batteries, performing tests, and doing tech work. Loading, unloading, and delivering or arranging delivery of product to customers if needed, or arranging deliveries via third party delivery companies. Organizing and daily recovery of displays, to achieve full store appearance. Building displays, setting up and taking down shelves and fixtures. Preparing store for daily opening and closing. Assisting in achieving retail and commercial sales initiatives. Maintaining physical facility safety and appearance including: dusting of shelves and product. Removing snow, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors. Maintaining restroom, cleaning glass, etc. Watch for loss prevention issues and advise management of any unusual activities. Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment and follow all safety rules and regulations. Adhere to company culture, policies and procedures. Function as a team player doing whatever is necessary to help attain company goals. Be able to work any shift required by Batteries Plus Denver. Be able to work at any Batteries Plus Denver location. Be capable of opening and closing a store. Qualifications: Qualifications H.S. diploma/equivalent and 6 months prior work experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior retail experience desired but not required. Must possess and use organizational and analytical problem solving skills. Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate abstract ideas and anderstand directions using both oral and written means. Ability to calculate simple math, percent's, ratios and algebraic expressions, and read gauges. Ability to work in multiple store locations. Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Scheduling qualifications: Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business including peak seasons and special event. Working Environment The physical demands required to perform the essential responsibilities of this position are as follows. Reasonable accommodations, if necessary and/or as required by law, will be made available. This position requires the employee to regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or touch and lift up to 75 pounds; and occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach above shoulders. The position requires the employee to occasionally use electrical cables, simple hand tools, a magnifying glass, spot welders, automotive and electronic testing equipment, and a company vehicle. While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee will occasionally experience minor exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and the risk of electrical shock. The level of noise in the working environment is moderate. Protective clothing and/or equipment used in this position includes goggles, gloves, lifting belts, and steel-toed shoes.
