The Physician Assistant evaluates, plans, and provides care for patients in consultation with and under the direct supervision of the attending Physician. Performs clinical procedures under the direction of the attending Physician and according to protocols. Initiates and changes orders for tests and patient care based on the condition of the patient and approval of Physician. Develops and maintains an active practice in facilities in accordance with Health Texas Provider Network protocols.

I. Compile medical history information and other relevant data from patient and patient's family while updating medical records.

II. Evaluate patient condition and medical needs.

III. Develop plan of care to be approved by attending Physician.

IV. Perform clinical procedures under direction of attending Physician.

V. Perform advanced clinical procedures in emergency situations.

VI. Initiate orders for routine Laboratory, radiologic, and diagnostic examinations or tests based on attending Physician's verbal orders or written protocol, to be countersigned by attending Physician according to established policies.

VII. Initiate or changes patient care orders due to change in patient condition according to established protocols.

VIII. Provide follow-up care in collaboration with Physician.

IX. Participate in team responsibilities for delivery of patient care, compliance with requirements of applicable agencies, and for implementation of ongoing

continuous quality improvement.

X. May perform clinical research on related topics.

XI. May participate with Physician in maintaining an effective on-call program.

XII. Participate in health education and promotional activities as required.

XIII. Attend routine meetings and participate on committee for policy/procedures development.

XIV. Attend seminars and conferences as required.

Note:

We are looking for one PA with surgery and endovein harvesting experience. We are also looking for one PA who can be a recent grad with an interest in Cardiac Surgery Assist (related clinical rotation experience required).
