Job Specifications As a E-Comm Buyer, you will work towards incorporating the E-Commerce vision through the management of merchandising the website. You will be responsible in building the most compelling and well balanced assortment of products while partnering with Planning partners to make appropriate inventory and analytical decisions. The Buyer in E-Commerce role is key in building relationships with our Department Buying teams and Vendors to ensuring we''re always in stock, offering the best new product, and never missing an opportunity to maximize profitable sales for Bed Bath and Beyond.
Essential Functions
Identify emerging trends in the Home Furnishings market and consider website viability.
Develop business strategies outlining strengths, weaknesses, new opportunities and risks.
Build and maintain strong relationships within the organization.
Attend department Style Outs" to determine department direction and effectively communicate direction and plans with Buying and Planning teams through execution.
Interface with Department Buyers, Photo Coordinators, Copywriters, Warehouse Facilities, Customer Service and Vendors to obtain and provide information as well as all appropriate problem solving.
Train, motivate and develop your team to ensure effective performance and growth through consistent on-the-job training.
Work closely with Planner to drive sales and ensure assortment accuracy.
Perform competitive shop and analyze sales trends for product additions.
Consistently improve product mix and add to collections.
Coordinate communication strategies with Buying department organization.
Job Requirements 3-5 years Buying experience, preferable with an in-depth knowledge of the middle to high-end home market
Strong communication skills
Sound analytical and PC skills
Possess the creative ability to operate independently and be motivated by working with an empowered buying organization
Bachelor''s degree in retail, fashion or marketing preferred
Some occasional travel may be required
