Description: This is a exempt position
Provide design concepts for components and whole products to satisfy project requirements.
Provide design integration to produce required fit and function using tolerance stacks.
Provide multi-view engineering layouts, models and engineering drawings, complete with GD&T.
Recommend material and process and provides dimensional specifications for integrated designs.
Practice concurrent design and teamwork in design projects.
Provide time estimates and recommendations concerning proposed projects when required.
Handle multiple projects and priorities.
Document technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components, assemblies and/or systems consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
May participate on teams if assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments as appropriate.

Formulate and implement individual plans as necessary to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules and contract commitments.
Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.
Provide CAD & engineering support across multiple technologies within the Operations group [Stereo Lithography, DMLS, CNC Machining] Other duties may be assigned.

Modify customer supplied 3D models to facilitate manufacturing process
Manage CAD files and maintain the proper control and distribution to all departments in an ISO9001 compliant organization
Assist Sales department with file translations and technical communication with customers
Oversee specific high profile parts and projects to ensure quality and delivery expectations are met
Participate in the quoting process by estimating manufacturing and engineering time and sequence
producing tight tolerance parts from 3D models, drawings, specifications and customer instructions

Use CAD to create build files and operate rapid prototype machine
MUST BE U.S. CITIZEN

Requirements: Must be capable of demonstrating in a interview UG NX4 and Solid Works proficiency and GD&T certification or how close they are to achieving the GD&T certification
1st Choice:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or other 4 year technical degree.
Prior experience in the design of turbine engine test rig components.
Prior experience and understanding of instrumentation layout and implementation.
Extremely strong Unigraphics skills. Must be able to achieve certification as a NX Designer Certified Professional within 30 days.
Substantial training and experience in the use of GD&T and Tolerance Stack Analysis. Must be able to achieve certification in GD&T and Tolerance Stacks within 30 days. This will likely require a personal investment of time as well as company time.
Substantial experience in metals and metal fabrication processes.
Fundamental understanding of the design of products using CAD.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, as well as good interpersonal skills.

5-10 years experience in turbine test rig design/detailing using UG NX .
Experience with materials such as Inconel, Titanium, and Cobalt or Nickel-based alloys

Knowledge of welding, brazing, and heat treatment

Considerable manufacturing knowledge including: machining capabilities, castings, forgings, super-alloys, and holding tight tolerances.
Demonstrated proficiency with drawing / model creation and interpretation including GD&T
2 years experience with Unigraphics [NX version NX 2 or higher] or equivalent experience in SolidWorks
Strong manufacturing process development skills and mechanical aptitude
Creativity in both - problem solving and part design
Considerable manufacturing knowledge including: castings, forgings, super-alloys, and holding tight tolerances
Perfect person will have work references pertaining to test rig design and primarily detailing using UG NX.

2nd choice:
AS in Mechanical Engineering or other 2 year technical degree.
