Requirements: Job Description (Finite Element Analysis):
Co-op students initially train to use the ANSYS general purpose finite element program, after which they are assigned to analysis projects under the direction of a lead analyst. Project tasks co-ops students perform include building finite element models, applying boundary conditions, executing analysis runs, post-processing results, and generating summary reports. Prospective co-ops are expected to be enthusiastic, hard-working, and willing to listen and learn. Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is required. Co-op students are provided an opportunity to work on a variety of projects utilizing a range of analysis types and analysis methodologies and should gain a fundamental understanding of the structural behavior of stresses, deflections, and natural frequencies.
