Description: We?re looking for extensive experience in microprocessor firmware development including specific competency in Digital Signal Processing or DSP.
Ideal qualifications for a DSP software engineer for our measurement system:
o Experience with aircraft or weather radar signal processing, or a similar reflection / correlation / detection system.
o Knowledge of analysis of arbitrary waveforms by the Fourier transform.
o Expertise in writing DSP code of this type for embedded processors or as part of larger systems.
o Familiarity with the requirements and operating environment of AC motor speed controls, switch-mode power supplies, or variable-frequency drives helpful.
o Experience with design of system-level integration protocols such as CAN or similar industry standards for modular data interchange among packaged components desirable.
Although the primary duty is new product development, some product sustaining and maintenance efforts will be required.
Essential Functions:
Design, development & testing of firmware/software on embedded systems.
Troubleshooting, resolving issues and enhancing existing applications designed.
Develop conceptual designs and detailed designs in accordance with established engineering processes, submit design code for reviews, update the designs as required as a result from reviews
Develops new technology relevant to the industry and T&D products and identifies ways to apply that technology in new products.
Resolve field issues and quality issues through analysis and design changes.
Creating required design documentation as per NPI Guidelines.
Basic Qualifications:
BS or MS in engineering (i.e. Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering) with
5+ years of hands on experience in Design & Development of embedded systems.
