Description: This person will be working in a FDA clean room type manufacturing facility that consists of liquid food product process manufacturing, and packaging. This person will be the only person responsible to maintain all plant/facility utilities, process, building mechanical, and possibly electrical drawings. This person will be responsible to go into the manufacturing floor/plant, recognize the equipment, or portion of the plant that they are being directed to, and either create new drawings of new facility, equipment, utilities, basically anything that is being changes(new equipment, utilities installation), or upgrading existing drawings to reflect changes that have been made. All of the drawings are created/updated using the latest version of Microstation CAD software.
Requirements: Responsibilities include performing complex and semi-complex design tasks requiring the operation and application of computer aided design equipment. Provide CAD support services to multiple departments and plant Engineering via access of blueprints, equipment specifications, and CAD design capabilities. Maintain system records and schematics for easy archival access and update as needed. Proficiency with Windows-based software packages, experience and expertise with Microstation CAD package. Strong knowledge of production equipment capabilities, application techniques, design limitations, layouts, print interpretation and plant processes is needed, including the ability to verify drawings to the existing equipment and update drawings as required to correct undocumented equipment changes. A strong ability to prioritize workloads and attention to detail is required. Electrical and/or mechanical experience is a plus.
Normal work hours are 7:00am ? 4:00 pm Monday-Friday.
The best person for this position is a person with an associates degree in mechanical design or engineering with 5+ years of plant utilities, HVAC, Piping, Plumbing, plant layout, equipment arrangement, and possibly some electrical power distribution drafting as a plus..Not a must.
This person will work unassisted and will be asked in the interview to be able to identify process, packing, and utility equipment demonstrating their ability to read a drawing and go to that area of the plant by recognizing the area or piece of equipment(HVAC, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, types of piping, and packing equipment), although there will be a orientation period. This person must have work references and demonstrate that they have a working knowledge of a process/packaging operation and preferably worked in a food/FDA type operation, with a knowledge of FDA regulations(again a plus)
This person must be capable of light design and detailing using the latest release of Microstation CAD software, without needing assistance.
