Description: The Design Engineer will be responsible for engineering development and design of products that meet customer�s expectation and technical specifications. The Design Engineer will strive to create designs that encompass manufacturability and assembly simplicity while including usage of standard materials and general manufacturing tolerances.
PRIMARY FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
� This individual will be responsible for developing designs for commercial and military applications.
� Assist with design and development of assigned programs from concept to production. Work closely with the team members to ensure models, drawings, and parts list meet customer requirements.
� Develop detail drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and MIL-DTL-3100.
� Ensure Lead Engineers are kept informed of any design issues that may impact programs, covering but not limited to the areas of schedule, cost and specifications.
� Ability to demonstrate a high level of professional knowledge, acquired through relevant experience and formal training courses.
� Proven high standard of verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document designs with accuracy and completeness.
� Design and detail fixtures for assembly, inspection and testing.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
The Design Engineer reports to the Director of Thermal Engineering.
SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Candidate must be proficient in use of common PC software packages and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical information.
This position requires at least five years previous experience in design engineering including working knowledge of AutoCad (latest version desired). Strong knowledge of ProE and Intralink required.
Knowledge of refrigeration and/or air conditioning system design is a plus.
