Description: POSITION SUMMARY:
The Structures Engineer performs design, documentation, and installation tasks on Transport Category Aircraft for Interior Completion STC projects. The engineer will be responsible for creating design data in support of structural modifications to aircraft primary structure for the installation of interior and external components. The engineer interfaces with internal and external partners and suppliers, procurement, and manufacturing in performing these functions.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Designs mechanics aircraft primary or secondary structures for VIP business aircraft.
2. Designs structural modifications and structural provisions.
3. Designs repairs for aircraft structure that are beyond the scope of repair documentation
4. Supports the integration of structural and systems installation components within the aircraft configuration.
5. Create moderate to complex design of aircraft primary or secondary structures to meet customer criteria, quality standards, FAA requirements, budget and project schedules using Computer Aided Drafting/Design tools.
6. Ensures designs meet customer criteria, quality standards and FAA requirements.
7. Review of service bulletins and airworthiness directives for applicability, and the generation of engineering documentation for the accomplishment of structural inspections and modifications.
8. Adheres to budget and project schedules.
9. Produces accurate designs and uses consultants when necessary.
10. May perform as functional "lead" for group on specific projects.
11. Assists in selection of components and materials to maintain aircraft configuration.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent.

2. 2 - 4 years of experience working in aircraft completions industry on transport category aircraft.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Computer Aided Drafting/Design (AutoCAD preferred.)

2. Aviation background and aircraft interior experience preferred.

3. Knowledge of mechanical design and documentation standards.

4. Budget and project management experience required.

5. Ability to work independently and cross-functionally.

6. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

7. Strong time-management and organizational skills.
