As a Summer Enrichment Teacher at BELL, you will enhance our scholars academic understanding and inspire dreams by creating and leading a specific enrichment program, one that will relate to our curriculum and our summers overarching theme.

Mentoring and teaching children takes a great deal of passion, motivation and of course, hard work.

What Can You Expect To Do:

• Developand facilitateappropriate enrichment classes for assigned grade levels.
• Prepareclassrooms for daily activities and collaboratewith Academic Teachers and Teachers Assistants to ensure that objectives are reached.
• Maintainaccurate classroom records
• Ensureenrichment goals are met for each scholar.
• Createand direct project based learning.
• Mentorand supportthe professional development of the Teachers Assistants.
• Supervisescholars during guest speaker engagements, field trips, lunch and recess.
• Prepare and organize scholars to demonstrate mastery of their new enrichment skillsin a presentation to parents, school and BELL administratorsand their peers.

• 2+ years of experience developing and facilitating curriculum in a specific enrichment topic for elementary or middle school aged children
• Topics include but are not limited to: visual/graphic arts, dance, music, physical education, chess, robotics and science . Literacy and math should be incorporated into your curriculum but can not be the sole topic of your course .
• A passion for making a difference in an urban elementary or middle school
• Ability to manage a classroom of up to 20 children alongside a Teacher's Assistant
• Computer/Internet aptitude
• Fingerprinting and a criminal background check.

During our interview process, we require that you perform a 5 minute demonstration of one of your enrichment classes as you would lead in your classroom.
