Responsibilities Include:
As a Benefitfocus Software Engineer in our engineering group, you will be working with a dynamic team of engineering professionals, in an environment where your input and efforts are valued and rewarded. You can expect to work with highly talented software engineers on a large enterprise platform. Within your first few months in the position, you will be expected to have acquired significant application knowledge and participate in strategic design and coding sessions to core parts of the platform. You will also be expected to learn and become familiar with our suite of middleware products that support the enterprise.As the position progresses, you will aid in the development of strategic enhancements to the platform working and collaborating with senior engineers and architects.
Required Experience:

* Hands on experience with at least 5 years database and java development experience
* .net experience preferred but not required
* Strong database knowledge.
* Ability to learn core parts of the code base quickly and effectively, self-starter, ability to climb a very steep learning curve
* Will be changing core parts of the code so needs to be a quick learner.
* Good communication skills, needs to interact and learn from engineers and architects familiar with the code base
* Must have experience of an SDLC especially relating to build and release and source control.
* Should also be interested in supporting and developing middleware products (Weblogic, Avtive MQ, Enterprise Web and Restful Services, JobFarm, BizTalk)
* Application and Performance Experience preferred
