PURPOSE

The Geologist will be an experienced, proven profession, responsible for completing complex geological assignments, including integrating geological data to construct maps, cross sections, and other displays to characterize the company's unconventional play in the Eagle Ford. The Geologist will be capable of completing work independently, while working in a multidisciplinary team and with the Field Development group to deliver successful results to the Production Unit. Primary focus of the position is to integrate geological and other data to better characterize the reservoir as this unconventional play enters the development and production phase.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Interpret and evaluate subsurface geologic data to construct integrated maps, cross sections, and other geologic displays defining subsurface structure, reservoir geometries, and hydrocarbon potential to characterize this unconventional play.

Work closely with a small team of geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, and operations geologists to integrate well log correlations, petrophysical analysis, geochemisty, geomechanics, seismic interpretations, production and completion data, and specific geologic models to define the play and optimize development strategies.

Coordinate various geological and vendor studies to characterize the company's Eagle Ford Unconventional assets.

Coordinates open-hole evaluation tools and service company vendors.

Assesses the potential and economic viability of externally generated proposals for the company.

Assist the team in generating reserves assessments and other corporate development planning.

Assist in training junior level Geologist. Level is viewed as qualified, fully competent professional.

Participate in HSE activities as required.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this position, you must possess:

Minimum 8 years experience in an E&P company.

Preferred concentration for 3+ years in the Eagle Ford and/or unconventional (horizontal) experience.

Experience in development/production geology with considerable problem-solving skills.

Advanced skills in Petra computer mapping software.

Proficiency with wireline logging and open-hole evaluation techniques.

Knowledge of core analysis methods and integrating results into the geological and petrophysical model.

Exposure to the role of geochemistry and geomechanics in defining drilling and completion strategies to optimize hydrocarbon productivity.

Working knowledge and some practical experience of the role and job responsibilities of Reservoir and Operation Engineers, Landmen, and other company professionals in order to accomplish team goals.

Ability to integrate and synthesize geologic interpretations to generate economically justified investment opportunities for the company.

Ability to make valuable contribution to team goals and objectives.

MS Degree in Geology preferred. BS Degree considered with significant, applicable experience.
