PURPOSE:
To serve as support for lease and EP contract administration for the Shale Onshore Areas providing assistance to Lease Analysts and Landmen for the set up and maintenance of EP petroleum leases, minerals and contract agreements. Set up and maintenance includes data entry into land systems, document file management, research, analysis, interpretation, reporting for land and finance, lease and contract set up, and support of the lease maintenance (preservation of asset) payment terms and other obligations for entire EP lifecycle. Provide support to ensure that BHPB's rights are protected, contractual obligations are met, and information is accurately captured and appropriately communicated within the organization.

Serve as support resource to land administration and land departments for research, document organization, analysis of Onshore EP oil & gas leases, minerals and EP contracts. Support includes receiving LPR/Contact Summaries from Brokers and Landmen; entering relevant data into the Land Lease/Contract system; completing any outstanding land or finance steps related to bonus or initial contract payments; requesting Vendor/Super BA owner name and addresses and forward work product to lease analyst for review and approval.

Support ad hoc and land system (Lease/Contract related) payments including providing IRS 1099 information.

Preliminary analysis and date entry for basic to complex oil & gas lease, lease purchase reports, contract summaries, mineral ownerships, EP contracts and title documents to calculate and pay obligations including shut-ins, along with other non payment related obligations to ensure preservation of the asset.

Maintain lease and EP contract obligation records to ensure rental payments made to private, corporate, and government mineral owners are in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, regulations, and contracts. Includes working with production to monitor and react to wells going on and off production.

Learn and refresh basic knowledge on applicable laws, statutes and industry standards related to leasing, contracts and mineral ownership in the geographical area assigned.

Prepare, notarize and record legal documents as directed by analysts and landmen. Assist with notarizing and recording third party EP Contracts as required.

Internally interface to build and maintain working relationships with Land and Technical Asset/Organization and other functional departments regarding lease set up and asset maintenance issues. Externally interface with mineral owners, partners, government agencies and industry associations regarding basic EP contract, minerals and lease issues.

Stay current with land systems technology, common office software and use them to improve Land systems and work process.

Contribute to evaluation and constant improvement of key work processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Generate business and regulatory reports for compliance to assist land and technical teams in analysis and decision-making.

Assist with testing Land related systems enhancements/upgrades, and deployment training for Technician related tasks

Assist Business Development with due diligence and acquisition evaluation related to lease, EP contracts and mineral ownership matters.

Scope of EP contracts covered by this role generally includes Oil & Gas Leases, Farm-Outs/Ins, Joint Operating Agreements/Joint Venture Agreements, Unitization/Pooling Agreements, AMI/Confidentiality Agreements, Acquisition/Divestiture Agreements, Chain of Title, Title Opinions, Title Curative, Title Abstracts, Affidavits, Probate Documents, Right of Ways, Fee Minerals/Royalty, Surface use agreements, rental agreements and other related EP Contracts required in the acquisition, exploration, development, production, abandonment and divestment of oil & gas mineral rights.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSQualification
Four-year university accredited degree or equivalent work experience preferred.

Continuing education in Land related subjects

Experience & Technical Competencies

Basic to Intermediate knowledge of Lease, Contract and Royalty Management software

Minimum 3 years experience

Knowledge of document management process and systems

High level of written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team-based environment.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Experience in Lease Administration/Land/Division Orders preferred (compensation and responsibilities will be commensurate with experience and skills)

Local, State and Federal onshore leasing experience a plus

Knowledgeable in MS Office software
