PURPOSE

This role provides for direct leadership of the Facilities Operations Team and support vendors, for all aspects of facilities management services at the BHP Billiton Petroleum headquarters in Houston.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategic Thinking– Develop strategic plans to address scalability of services leveraging vendors, processes and people.

Risk Management– Identify the risk elements of operational change and develop scenarios to prevent/address.

Security Leadership– Manage on-site Guard services. Develop innovative solutions to address changing security needs.

Operational Management– Provide mentoring on operational management techniques and standards (Standard Operation Procedures, Process Modelling, Business Continuity) to team members for Facilities services. Provide leadership to assure smooth transition of project execution into operational steady-state. Identify opportunities to continuously improve processes and services.

Lease/Sublease Management– Assure compliance for Facilities responsibilities according to leases, amendments and sub-lease agreements.

Business Planning– Lead initiatives in support of Facilities' strategic business plan. Able to right-size resource requirements and adjust services to business requirements. Forecast spend, analyze performance against budget and manage expenditures.

Vendor Management– Independently evaluate vendor performance against Service Level Agreements and develop & execute a strategy to address deficiencies. Lead team in performing due diligence around market offerings for new or replacement goods & services.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's, preferably Master's, degree with 15 years experience in Engineering, Business Management, or Operations Management

Certification in Facilities Management preferred

Financial Management skills in

o Budget

o Forecast

o Accruals

5-10 years in people leadership (Supervisor or manager)

Project and program management experience, PMI certification preferred

5-10 years in quality control and customer service

5-10 years operations management experience

Advanced process modelling/problem solving skills

Persuasive presentation skills

Experience in construction preferred

Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
