PURPOSE
Provides overall engineering, operational and management support for completion, well testing and

associated activities with responsibility for optimising planning, costing and operations for one or more

rigs.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
o Development of completion, well testing and intervention activities to BHBP worldwide standards

o Participate in well project teams leading the design process for well completions

o Supervise detailed completion design, equipment specification and cost estimates to meet BHPB

worldwide standards

o Development of operational programs, job programs and contingency plans

o Qualify and complete quality assurance procedures on all tools and equipment

o Prepare well risk assessments and recommend controls and mitigations

o Development of project and location specific standards and procedures; in particular, for activities

performed as simultaneous operations within a safety case environment

o Provide technical engineering support to operations, onshore & offshore

o Identify and implement performance improvement initiatives and monitor effectiveness

o Development and implementation of well documentation systems

o Monitor and measure operational and financial performance

o Liase with subcontractors, authorities and partners.
COMPETENCIES
o High level of technical and operational understanding for completion, well testing and intervention

operations including deepwater, horizontal and multi-lateral wells.

o Sand control systems - frac-pack and high rate water pack.

o Safety and risk management skills

o Excellent communication skills

o Ability to work effectively within a project team environment

o One or two areas of technical or operations expertise

o Bridging and safety case systems and procedures
HSE RESPONSIBILITIES
o Ensure well material and service providers comply with BHPB specified QA requirements

o Supervise responsible completion engineers in the execution of their HSEC responsibilities

o Assist the responsible completion engineer in conducting well hazard assessments and assist with

the provision of the major technical input into any operations hazard assessments and hazops

o Ensure the formal documentation of issues and implementation of actions resulting from any well

hazard assessment

o Demonstrate safety leadership and actively seek to enhance BHPB safety systems and procedures
TRAINING
o Engineering or Science Degree

o Project management

o Supervisor's well control.

o Advanced drilling industry technical courses

o Hazard assessment course

o Incident investigation.

o Audit course.
EXPERIENCE
o 7-10 years minimum completions experience encompassing a wide range of well types

o 3-5 years minimum at supervisory or management level, including deepwater offshore operations

experience
