Senior Manager Pre-Commissioning and Start-Up

An outstanding opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced professional to become part of our team based in Toronto, ON. Reporting to the Deputy Project Director Surface, this is an exciting opportunity to overview the full pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up process plans and to directly manage the load commissioning and handover to operations for the Jansen Project (includes non-process and off-site infrastructure).

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
* Prepare and implement detailed integrated scope, schedule and budget for the pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and hand-over plan, including review and approval of EPCM pre-commissioning plans for surface facilities, infrastructure, and sub-surface facilities.
* Liaise with EPCM construction manager and pre-commissioning manager to ensure system completion is in line with the overall project schedule and the detailed commissioning plans.
* Oversight of construction verification and pre-commissioning activities by EPCM contractors, ensuring compliance with all procedures and document all non-compliances and ensure smooth hand-over of systems to commissioning.
* Liaise with Operations Team, both directly and via the General Manager of Operations and/or the Senior Manager Operational Readiness, to ensure participation by operations personnel in the process and to ensure smooth hand-over of systems to operations.
* Manage execution of load commissioning and hand-over to Operations, including close-out of all punch-list items and hand-over of all training and project documentation.
* Provision of technical support to Operations during and subsequent to hand over.
* Provide feedback into the training program to allow the operations team be ready for the commissioning and start-up.
* Prepare the commissioning and start-up budget.
Key requirements:

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Process / Mechanical Engineering discipline.

You will have 15+ years at a management level in the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of mega projects. The candidate will have experience in leading contractors, consultants, technology suppliers, vendor representatives, owner's project team, operating team and execution engineer. Furthermore, experience in both project/construction and operations environments will be considered an asset. The ideal candidate will have proven commitment to health, safety and environment and have excellent technical, management and people skills. Furthermore you will have very strong planning skills, the ability to liaise with contractors, consultants, technology suppliers, vendor representatives, owner's project team, operating team and execution engineer.

The position will be based in Toronto but will require frequent travel to the Saskatoon office and the Jansen mine site. This role is eligible for domestic relocation.
