PURPOSE

Senior position in Project Services targeting individuals who are looking to add real value by working with a team of professionals in an Oil and Gas industry Operator environment. The Senior Project Services Specialist - Cost will provide expertise in capital investment tollgating, approvals, business planning, cost estimating and controls, risk management and reporting across a range of projects by:

Spearheading the development of scope, risk profile, schedule, and cost estimate, including associated approvals, controls and reporting requirements

Establishing and maintaining the right systems and procedures for an effective and efficient control and overall commercial management of Capital Investment Projects

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Initiate project services activities around scope, risk, schedule, cost, document control, contracting, approvals, etc

Develop and/or manage project risk register, schedules, cost estimates, baseline data and performance reports.

Ensure conformance to BHP Billiton's Petroleum Investment Process Manual

Ensure alignment between Owner and Contractors on expectations around each contract's project services deliverables

Develop key reporting and management documents, e.g. IAR's, AFE's, monthly reports, dashboards, business planning deliverables, etc

Work closely with the project team to effectively manage and progress the project through investment tollgates

Lead range analysis efforts on projects to model workshop outputs, determine schedule and cost ranges, and contingency

Coordinate development of appropriate schedule and cost benchmarks

Maintain projects' historical schedule and cost performance reports

Liaise with appropriate functions to ensure that robust economic evaluation and financial accounting services are provided in support of every investment

Actively support Petroleum Project Services functional initiatives, as may be required. Participate in functional and peer reviews, as necessary

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Undergraduate degree, preferably in engineering or construction. MBA a plus. Professional qualifications in Schedule/Cost Engineering and/or Project Management

Thorough knowledge of typical project management software tools

Minimum of 12 years continuous experience executing capital projects, minimum 7 of which are directly related to major project's cost management, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry

Successful track record at senior level in major oil & gas construction projects' Project Management/Controls, under strict HSE Protocols

Broad experience in successful project execution and management in all phases of projects, from inception through project close out

Superior project risk management skills

Computing, numerate, strategic planning and business analytical skills

Demonstrated capabilities in leadership, relationship management, influencing and communication skills
