PURPOSE This position will provide engineering and construction support to the field-based construction team for small capital infrastructure development. Infrastructure development includes gathering system expansions, compressor facilities, water-related facilities and new developments. ACCOUNTABILITIES Gathering System Expansion & Compressor Stations Work with field construction team to successfully deliver gathering system expansions (trunklines, loops, etc.), new compressor stations and expansion of existing compressor stations from concept development through commissioning and start-up. Manage external contractor support organization and coordinate internal construction resources through front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning and start-up. Water Facilities Work with field construction team to successfully deliver new water-related facilities as required, potentially including water sourcing facilities, water injection facilities, water recycling facilities, and wetlands mitigation. Scope includes concept development through commissioning and start-up. Manage external contractor support organization and coordinate internal construction resources through front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning and start-up. New Developments Work with field construction team to successfully deliver new developments (including expansions of gas gathering systems and related facilities). Scope includes concept development through commissioning and start-up. Manage external contractor support organization and coordinate internal construction resources through front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning and start-up. Contractor Management FPU engineering resources will be sourced primarily through an external contractor organization. The Facilities Engineer will have primary responsibility for managing the external contractor and associated contract. Leadership Demonstrate pro-active leadership in engineering and construction support. Engage effectively with both office-based technical staff , field-based operations/construction personnel and external contractors and suppliers. Continuously demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communications and teaming skills. Safety Accountable for modeling HSEC leadership in all aspects of the role. This includes actively ensuring HSEC concerns are properly addressed in all phases of construction support from design through commissioning and start-up. In addition, it includes demonstration of HSEC leadership from a personal perspective (e.g., conducting regular site audits, active participation in HSE-related discussions/initiatives, etc.). Minimum 15 years industry related experience Experience and Technical Competencies: Proven track record in infrastructure development and contractor management, including excellent HSE performance and proven ability to meet functional, cost and schedule targets in high-activity environment Substantial experience in onshore gas gathering Working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements Languages: English THINK OF THE OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN BHP BILLITON.
