The Institutional Global Client Group is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with sophisticated institutional investors. Job Purpose/Background: Reporting to the head of the US/Canada Institutional business, the Managing Director, Real Estate is responsible for developing and maintaining key institutional relationships in the US/Canada with a focus on supporting our Real Estate Investment business. This individual will contribute to the growth of assets under management while continually improving and enhancing the client experience. Key Responsibilities: ? Proactively lead Strategic and Prime Client relationships ? Engage with investment teams to provide solutions and identify cross-selling opportunities ? Enhance revenues by up-selling higher margin products ? Develop and implement the real estate client strategy for US/Canada ? Proactively prospect new business from non-existing clients ? Retain at risk assets ? Product development, take a holistic view of the business across our entire suite of alternative investment products. ? The candidate will be a proven producer with the ability to use independent judgment, forge good working relationships with regional and business counterparts. ? Initiate sales activity with large un-penetrated investors within assigned channel/region ? Work with GCR to deepen field consultant relationships ? Ensure participation in large profitable RFPs and source non-competitive opportunities ? Mentor junior RMs to build their sales capabilities Skills/Qualifications: ? Extensive experience in and knowledge of the asset management industry, specifically a deep knowledge of Real Estate investment ? Ability to articulate our various funds and investment strategies ? Demonstrates a real passion for the asset class ? Proven sales background – a smart, articulate and highly motivated road warrior – is a hunter gatherer” ? Understand key drivers of success, various metric schemes and a working knowledge of our competitors. ? Ability to effectively execute on decisions in a fast-paced environment ? Act as point person for all real estate activity, within GCG ? Experience in institutional fundraising with deep relationships across the range of institutional investor clients ? Ability to demonstrate clear awareness of key issues in the real estate markets affecting institutional investors from both an investment, service and regulatory perspective ? Strong intellectual ability and interpersonal skills to establish his/her credibility with the senior leaders throughout the Firm. ?
