Client Business Group – US & Canada Retail – Product Management & Development

Within the Client Business Group, we pride ourselves on creating, communicating, and delivering investment solutions for clients worldwide. To that end, we have teams of professionals with expertise in the many functions that combine to make this effort successful and sustainable, including relationship management, marketing, sales, client service, and product development and management.

We serve institutional and retail clients in more than 60 countries, including pension funds, foundations, endowments, official institutions, insurance companies, sub-advisory relationships, high net worth individuals, family offices, and private banks. Further, we work to cultivate relationships with key distributors of our investment products, such as broker-dealers, banks, registered investment advisers, financial planners, insurance companies, and building societies.

The U.S. Retail team is responsible for distribution, marketing and product management for BlackRock’s U.S.-registered products, including open-end funds, closed-end funds and managed accounts.

We are looking for an Analyst/Associate to join the U.S. Retail team as a part of the Product Management & Development group.

US Retail Product Management & Development Team Description

Within the Client Business Group, U.S. Retail Product Management & Development is responsible for launching and seeding new fund strategies as well as the on-going management of the existing retail product line, which includes product consolidation and repositioning. In addition to this function, the group partners with other groups across BlackRock to design and implement BlackRock’s business development strategy in the Retail market.


Responsibilities:


Participant in managing BlackRock’s U.S. open-end fund product line including strategy and execution of fund mergers, liquidations, new product launches and fund repositionings
Active involvement in mutual fund Board proposals
Work with functional teams (including sales, marketing, portfolio management, operations, and legal) on various fund-related initiatives, including support of existing product range
Understand the structural, operational and sales aspects of the full product line
Keep abreast of industry trends to identify product gaps and ensure Blackrock’s retail product line is well positioned for growth
Develop presentations for senior management and other business meetings
Act as the contact for product-related questions from internal partners and outside vendors

Ad hoc projects as required


Skills and Qualifications:

Approximately 2 to 7 years of financial services experience
BA/BS required
Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with senior management
Self-starter; ability to work well with others and independently
Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
Familiarity with the Investment Company Act of 1940 preferable
Legal, Fund Accounting or product implementation background helpful but not required
