This position requires hands on knowledge of operating systems and server technologies; should have knowledge of industry hardware types and interoperability; should have a basic understanding of application software. Person in this role must be able to work with other system administrators on their team located at that site and other locations. Person will work with colleagues regarding builds, patches, updates, testing and sharing results. This person needs to provide operational support for legacy, current and emerging technologies. The Global UNIX team is a sizable team of over 40 individuals located in six different regions around the globe that support a highly available UNIX environment. We are looking for an addition to the Delaware regional team to provide operational support. Role Responsibility: Responsible for operational support and maintenance of the global UNIX/Linux environments running Solaris 10 - 2.8 and Redhat Enterprise 5.x and above, including build, administration, configuration and maintenance of servers. Perform system administration duties across the environment to provide support services for customer. Perform system recoveries. Maintain server availability for all sites and periodically test redundant failover. Problem solving, teamwork and customer service skills Good interpersonal and communication skills Resolve help desk and Service Center problem and work request tickets. This position is the working hours between 9:30 AM and 6:45 PM. There are no after-hours on call requirements, but the individual will take part in a weekend rotation with the rest of the operations team to help provide coverage seven days a week. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and provide operations support for bridge calls. Participate in the development and implementation of UNIX related projects Monitoring and reporting on alarming of UNIX servers and providing remediation to alarms. Experience: Solaris 2.8 and above LINUX 4.x and above TCP/IP, NFS, NIS, DNS, LDAP, Security and Performance Monitoring Virtualization, VMware, RHEV, Openstack HPOM tool suite(monitoring software experience) Veritas Foundation Suite (Volume Manager, FileSystem and Cluster Server) Experience with shell scripting ksh or Perl.
