System Operations Internship

Internship Overview

The SysOps intern will be heavily involved in operational aspects of the Bluefly internet sites. The Intern will have the opportunity to take on more responsibility in this process based on the previous knowledge and ability to learn on the job.

Educational Experience Gained

An understanding of the Systems Operations best practices,
An understanding of Agile, Operations methodologies and system automation
Project work that leverages current experience to build tools to support operational challenges
Team building, professional communication and how to work in a fast paced environment

Responsibilities

Manual reviewing systems and hardware inventory
Build monitors for new and existing systems
Report system issues to managers and developers through helpdesk queue
Proofread documents
Assist process is followed through the life cycle of the products
Attend meetings and collaborate with team members

Student pursuing a major in Computer Science (or related field) or a graduate looking to gain an educational experience
Has strong analytical skills
Passionate about systems and complex systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professional attitude
Strong desire to learn
